David, a Lansing, Michigan native, accepted a golf scholarship to play for Augusta State University from 1984 to 1986. He also developed a strong interest in competitive bass fishing during this time. With his friend Derrick Bridges, they won two major bass tournaments in 1992 and 1999 along with 3 new Ranger Boats. Now hooked on boating and fishing, in 2003 he found an opportunity to purchase a boat dealership. Under his leadership Augusta Marine has grown to the largest and most successful dealership in the surrounding eight counties.
David has lived in the Augusta area since birth. He has over 45 years of experience in the boating industry. David has sales and service training in Yamaha, Honda, Mercury, and has been certified as an Evinrude Master Technician. He had a 25 year career competing in power boat racing, winning numerous races including four National Championship titles. An active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and a Sunday school teacher, David enjoys fishing with his kids and grandchildren.
A Vietnam Veteran, Buster Davis has been an integral part of the Augusta Marine sales staff since the 1990's. Known for his winning ways in local tournament fishing, Buster is also experienced and knowledgeable in high performance bass boat operation. An Aiken County native, Cheryl has lived in the Augusta area her entire life. She is a devoted wife, with 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
Butch hails from Lincolnton, Georgia and has lived in this area for over 40 years. He began his service experience with Boat Hill Marine in Washington GA in 1991. He owned and operated Cunninham Marine from 1998 until coming onboard at Augusta Marine in 2011. His factory service training include Honda and Mercury. He and his wife Denise have one grown son. As avid Harley Davidson fanatics they enjoy riding whenever possible.
John-Christian is currently in school at Augusta University where he will graduate in May with a B.B.A. in Marketing. He is David's second oldest child.
Marketing and Events Manager
Callie is a recent graduate of Augusta University where she earned her B.B.A in Business Administration and Marketing. Callie is the oldest of David's children and enjoys working for the family business. Callie also works at Pulse Dance Center as a dance instructor, where she danced all thru high school.
Roger lives in Lincolnton, Georgia and has lived in this area for 50 years. He began his service experience with Soap Creek Marina in 1982 and also worked with Butch Cunningham until 2006. He joined the staff at Augusta Marine in 2013. His factory service training includes earning his Master Technician OMC/ Evinrude & Johnson award as well as service training in Yamaha. He and his wife Judy have 2 sons Wyatt and Wesley. Roger enjoys hunting and fishing and spending quality time with the boys.
Doug Borgner had the longest service with Augusta Marine, beginning here in 1990. He was a Mercury, Evinrude and Mercruiser certified technician. Doug's hobbies included high performance boating, especially drag racing.

Jon Michael has been with us for 7 years, where he started his first job at our Gordon Highway location as a boat detailer.
Service Tech, Shop Foreman
Brian lives in Grovetown, Georgia and has lived in the Augusta area for over 37 years. Since 1989 he has completed service training and is a certified Mercury, Yamaha, BRP-Evinrude, Motorguide, Honda, and Mercruiser technician.
Forrest resides in Plum Branch, South Carolina and has lived in this area for over 45 years. Since 1998 he has completed training and is certified in Mercury,Yamaha (MASTER TECHNICIAN), BRP-Evinrude (MASTER TECHNICIAN), Motorguide, Honda, and Mercruiser technician. His main hobby is fishing. The Yamaha Outboard Master Technician represents the highest certification a Yamaha technician can attain. There are currently only 120 members of this elite group in the United States.
The newest member of our team, Mark came onboard in August 2014 to join our service department. A lifelong resident of Lincolnton, GA he had 10 years of experience as an automotive mechanics prior to becoming a marine service technician in 2005. An avid hunter and former tournament fisherman, Mark and his wife Cheryl have 4 children and 12 granchildren.

Karl lives in North Augusta and has lived in the Augusta area for over 40 years. A graduate of Mercury University, Karl has been associated with Augusta Marine since 1999.
